Back to top Crowns Depending on the amount of available tooth structure surrounding a cavity, a crown may need to be used. There are several reasons we may recommend a crown, but longevity, and aesthetics are the major ones we base our recommendation on. Back to top Veneers By now, you may have seen the makeover shows highlighting the amazing transformations veneers can reveal. Yes, the transformations can be amazing, but they have to be done properly and a thorough analysis of each case is necessary to determine whether or not they are the best option. We will work with you, one on one, to determine whether or not veneers are for you. Veneers are thin, custom-made, "slip covers" for your teeth. The most conservative amount of tooth structure is removed from the tooth and replaced with the custom-made veneer. It is made from a composite material that is designed to match the surrounding teeth as seemlessly as possible. Because enamel from the existing tooth has to be removed, this is an irreversible procedure, but one that can dramatically improve your smile. Ask us for more details if you have any questions about veneers. We will certainly discuss all the options available to you based on your particular situation. It is important that you know, however, that you have options and we encourage you to discuss your options with us. Back to top Implant restorations Implants are, in some cases, an excellent alternative to use when teeth need to be replaced. Because they involve fusing with the jaw bone, they offer greater stability, provide more comfort and often times look more natural. Due to the fact that the implants need to be affixed to the bone, candidates for implants must have adequate bone structure. An analysis of the bone structure must be completed prior to knowing whether or not an implant is the best option for the patient.
